Why Air Charter Korea

Air Charter Korea (ACK) is Korea's first independent private aviation consulting firm. We're not affiliated with any single operator — which means we have no fleet to fill and no incentive to push one aircraft over another. Our sole function is to search the global market and find the option that best matches your schedule, budget, and safety requirements.

There are many ways to book a private jet from Korea — directly through operators like Korean Air BizJet or VistaJet, through domestic brokers, through global brokerage firms with Korean offices, or through FBO-based charter services. Each channel has its strengths. What sets ACK apart is that we search across all of them simultaneously, and we pre-verify safety credentials on every option before it reaches your desk.

Three Things ACK Delivers That Single-Operator Channels Cannot

Value

How It Works

Full-Market Search

We don't search one fleet — we search hundreds of operators globally in real time. The same route on the same aircraft type can vary by tens of thousands of dollars depending on where the jet is currently parked. We find the one with the shortest positioning distance to your departure airport

Safety Due Diligence

Operator AOC verification, safety audit ratings (ARG/US, Wyvern Wingman, IS-BAO), insurance limits, maintenance history, and pilot qualifications — all checked by ACK before any quote reaches you

All-In Pricing

Positioning, handling, fuel surcharges, overflight permits, and taxes are included in every ACK quote. The number on the proposal is the number you pay at settlement. No surprises

Air Charter Korea — Private Jet Charter Consulting Service

Who This Service Is Designed For

ACK's on-demand charter consulting is built for clients who plan ahead. Inquiring 2–6 weeks before departure — or 4–8 weeks during peak season — gives us the widest selection of aircraft and the strongest pricing leverage. Urgent departures are possible, but the further ahead you plan, the better your options and the lower your cost.

Aircraft Categories

ACK sources aircraft across all six categories through our global network. The right choice depends on your route distance, passenger count, and budget.

1. Very Light Jet (VLJ)

Representative Models: HondaJet Elite, Cirrus Vision Jet, Cessna Citation M2 Passengers: 4–6 Range: ~1,500–2,500 km (800–1,350 nm) Best Routes: Gimpo↔Jeju, Gimpo↔Busan, Seoul↔Fukuoka

The most economical private jet category. Optimized for short domestic hops and near-international routes where flight time is under 90 minutes. At these distances, cabin size matters less than cost efficiency, making VLJs the smartest choice. The HondaJet Elite is a frequent ACK recommendation for its exceptionally quiet cabin and best-in-class operating economics.

2. Light Jet

Representative Models: Cessna Citation CJ3+, Embraer Phenom 300E Passengers: 6–8 Range: ~3,000–3,700 km (1,600–2,000 nm) Best Routes: Seoul↔Tokyo, Seoul↔Osaka, Seoul↔Shanghai, Seoul↔Taipei

The workhorse of Northeast Asian business aviation. The Embraer Phenom 300E is one of the most operated light jets globally — its balance of availability, cabin quality, and operating economics makes it the aircraft ACK consultants recommend most frequently for this distance band. Cruises at approximately 850 km/h, covering major Northeast Asian cities in 1.5–3 hours.

3. Midsize Jet

Representative Models: Cessna Citation Latitude, Hawker 800XP, Learjet 60XR Passengers: 7–9 Range: ~4,000–5,500 km (2,200–3,000 nm) Best Routes: Seoul↔Singapore (some), Seoul↔Bangkok, Seoul↔Guam

Wider cabins enable comfortable longer flights. Several models offer stand-up cabins — enough headroom to walk the aisle without ducking — which makes in-flight meetings and meals materially more comfortable. The preferred category for medium-haul Southeast Asian business travel.

4. Super Midsize Jet

Representative Models: Bombardier Challenger 350, Gulfstream G280, Cessna Citation Longitude Passengers: 8–12 Range: ~5,500–6,700 km (3,000–3,600 nm) Best Routes: Seoul↔Singapore, Seoul↔Bangkok, Seoul↔Dubai (some)

The value sweet spot of private aviation. Super midsize jets deliver cabin space and range approaching heavy-jet territory, at hourly rates 30–40% lower. The Bombardier Challenger 350 in particular is one of the most popular charter aircraft in the Korean market — top-tier cabin environment and rock-solid dispatch reliability at a competitive price point. For groups of 8–12, this category frequently delivers the best overall value.

5. Heavy / Long-Range Jet

Representative Models: Gulfstream G650/G650ER, Bombardier Global 7500, Dassault Falcon 8X Passengers: 12–19 Range: ~10,000–14,000 km (5,400–7,500 nm) Best Routes: Seoul↔London nonstop, Seoul↔US West Coast nonstop, Seoul↔Dubai nonstop, Seoul↔Sydney nonstop

The only category capable of intercontinental nonstop flight. Premium cabin interiors include full-flat beds, conference tables, multiple cabin zones, and on some models, shower facilities. The Gulfstream G650ER — Mach 0.85 cruise speed, 13,890 km range, 16 oversized panoramic windows, 100% fresh-air system — is the benchmark aircraft in this segment. Korean Air operates a G650ER domestically; ACK sources additional G650/G650ER availability through global operators.

For G650-specific charter information, see G650 Charter Cost from Korea (2026).

6. VIP Airliner / Executive Airliner

Representative Models: Boeing BBJ (737-based), Airbus ACJ319/320, Boeing 757 VIP Passengers: 20–100+ Range: 10,000 km+ Best Routes: Large group movements, K-pop world tours, corporate incentive travel, government delegations

Commercial airframes converted to VIP configuration. The most efficient option when moving 50+ passengers as a single group. Commonly deployed for K-pop world tour artist and crew movements, large-scale corporate conferences, and premium group incentive programs.

Planning ahead delivers better pricing. When you inquire 2–6 weeks before departure, ACK has time to source aircraft already positioned near Korea — minimizing the positioning cost that can otherwise add 15–30% to the total. Peak-season travelers should inquire 4–8 weeks out.

What's Included in the Price

Every ACK quote is all-in. The number on the proposal is the number at settlement.

Included in Every ACK Quote

  • Base flight cost (hourly rate × flight time, fuel included)

  • Crew costs (2 pilots, cabin attendant on larger aircraft)

  • Landing and airport fees (departure and arrival)

  • Aircraft insurance (operator liability coverage)

  • Positioning cost (ferry flight to bring the aircraft to your departure airport — the item most commonly excluded by other providers)

  • Fuel surcharges (reflecting current crude prices)

  • International overflight permits (China, Russia transit where applicable)

  • Taxes (domestic VAT where applicable; international flights VAT-exempt)

Available as Add-On Options

  • Catering — Light refreshments ($400+) to Michelin-trained chef menus ($4,000+). Korean, Western, vegan, halal, kosher, allergy-accommodating options all available

  • Ground transportation — Airport-to-destination vehicle (Mercedes-Maybach, V-Class, Rolls-Royce, etc.)

  • Special services — Medical equipment, pet accommodation, VIP protocol, interpreter services

  • Overnight — Aircraft parking + crew hotel when the jet waits for you at destination (Gimpo: $1,500–$2,700/day; international airports vary)

  • In-flight Wi-Fi — Standard on most current-generation aircraft; optional on older models

  • Pet travel care — Quarantine documentation support, animal-friendly catering

For quote comparison methodology, see our Charter Quote Transparency Guide.

Booking Process — 5 Steps

Step 1: Submit Your Itinerary

Send us the following via our contact page, email, or phone:

  • Departure and arrival airports (e.g., Gimpo → Tokyo Haneda)

  • Departure date and time (fixed or flexible)

  • Return schedule (one-way or round-trip)

  • Passenger count (adults / children / infants)

  • Luggage notes (golf bags, ski equipment, instruments, etc.)

  • Pet travel (yes/no, breed and size)

  • Aircraft preference (optional — ACK will recommend if you're unsure)

  • Catering preferences (Michelin chef, Korean cuisine, dietary restrictions)

  • Ground transport needed? (yes/no)

  • Approximate budget (even a rough range helps)

The more detail you provide upfront, the faster and more precise the quote.

Step 2: Receive Competing Quotes (24–48 Hours)

ACK searches globally and presents at least 3 competing all-in quotes, each including:

  • Aircraft type and year of manufacture

  • Operator name and country of registration

  • Safety audit rating (ARG/US, Wyvern, IS-BAO)

  • Aircraft insurance limits

  • All-in price (positioning, fuel, taxes included)

  • Cancellation and amendment policy

  • Cabin configuration (seats, conference table, flat-bed availability)

  • In-flight services (Wi-Fi, catering options)

  • ACK's recommendation rationale and comparative analysis

Step 3: Safety Verification

ACK pre-verifies the following on every quoted option. You don't need to do any of this yourself.

Verification Item

What We Check

AOC

Operator's Air Operator Certificate — government-issued operating license

ARG/US Rating

US-based global safety audit (Gold / Gold Plus / Platinum)

Wyvern Wingman

Independent global safety certification

IS-BAO

International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IBAC)

Aircraft Insurance

Passenger liability + third-party liability limits

Maintenance History

Last inspection date, cumulative flight hours, aircraft age

Pilot Qualifications

Type-specific flight hours, route experience, recency

Cabin Crew Certification

Safety training completion

ACK does not include operators that fail safety verification in any quote — regardless of price.

Step 4: Contract and Payment

Once you select an aircraft, you sign the Charter Agreement and settle payment.

  • Payment method: Wire transfer (standard), credit card accepted by some operators (fees may apply)

  • Payment timing: 100% prepayment, typically 7–14 days before departure

  • Cancellation policy: Varies by operator. Typical structure: full refund at 7+ days, partial at 72 hours–7 days, full charge under 72 hours. ACK clarifies all terms before you sign

  • Contract language: English / Korean bilingual available

Step 5: Pre-Departure Coordination

ACK manages all logistics from contract signing through departure day:

  • Passenger passport processing (6+ months validity confirmed)

  • Destination visa verification and guidance

  • Catering order finalization (24–48 hour deadline before departure)

  • FBO location briefing and ground transport booking

  • Day-of concierge support at the terminal

  • Destination-side immigration and vehicle arrangements

Departure Airports in Korea

ACK arranges departures from all business aviation airports in South Korea.

Gimpo International Airport — SGBAC (Seoul Gimpo Business Aviation Center)

Approximately 16 km from central Seoul. Korea's primary business aviation hub. 30–40 minutes from Gangnam, 15–20 from Yeouido, 50–60 from Incheon.

SGBAC is a purpose-built business aviation facility completely separate from the commercial terminal. Key features:

  • Dedicated CIQ (Customs, Immigration, Quarantine) processing — cleared in under 5 minutes

  • VIP lounge and meeting rooms

  • Crew lounge and briefing facilities

  • Parking directly in front of the terminal

  • Dedicated hangar facilities

SGBAC is the departure point ACK clients use most frequently — unmatched in Korea for downtown proximity and processing speed.

Incheon International Airport — Long-Haul Gateway

The standard departure point for intercontinental missions. Longer runways and strong slot availability make Incheon advantageous for heavy-jet operations. For US, European, and Middle Eastern routes, Incheon is often more operationally efficient than Gimpo.

Jeju International Airport — Domestic Leisure Hub

The arrival point for the popular Gimpo↔Jeju private jet route. Growing demand for golf trips, resort travel, and weekend getaways.

Yangyang, Gimhae (Busan), Muan

Available for regional departures. Gimhae serves the Yeongnam region's business travel needs. Yangyang is convenient for Gangwon Province departures. Muan serves the Honam region. Business aviation-specific facilities are more limited than Gimpo, so advance coordination is recommended.

ACK arranges departures from all Korean airports →

Departure Day — SGBAC Timeline

ACK charter clients depart from Gimpo's SGBAC — a dedicated facility entirely separate from the commercial terminal.

Time

Step

T-60 min

Depart by car (Gangnam: 30–40 min, Yeouido: 15–20 min)

T-30 min

Arrive SGBAC — parking directly in front

T-25 min

Enter VIP lounge — refreshments, final briefing

T-20 min

CIQ processing — dedicated channel, under 5 minutes

T-15 min

Walk or drive to aircraft — steps away from the lounge

T-10 min

Board — cabin crew welcome, seat assignment

T-0

Takeoff — pre-secured slot, minimal runway wait

Door-to-door comparison: Gangnam to central Tokyo in approximately 4 hours (commercial: 6–7 hours). The cumulative time saved across airport arrival, security screening, gate waiting, boarding, immigration queues, and baggage claim adds up to 2–3 hours per trip — making multi-city same-day schedules (Seoul→Tokyo→Shanghai) genuinely feasible.

Gimpo Business Aviation Center — Departure Day Timeline

In-Flight Service

Cabin service varies by aircraft and operator, but the following standards are typical for ACK charters.

Cabin Configuration

  • Club seating: Face-to-face 4-seat groups (meeting-ready)

  • Conference table: Standard on midsize and above

  • Full-flat beds: Available from super midsize category upward

  • Multiple zones: Heavy jets offer 3–4 separate cabin areas

  • Galley: All aircraft

  • Lavatory: All aircraft (heavy jets: 2+)

  • Shower: Select heavy jets (Global 7500, G700)

Catering

  • Light refreshments: Sandwiches, fruit, beverages, wine ($400–$1,200)

  • Full meals: Multi-course service, on-board chef available ($1,500–$4,000)

  • Michelin-grade: Menus by Michelin-trained chefs ($4,000+)

  • Dietary: Vegan, halal, kosher, allergy-accommodating — all available

  • Korean cuisine: Popular on Korea-departure charters

Connectivity

  • Satellite Wi-Fi: Ka-band high-speed on most current-generation aircraft

  • Video conferencing: Heavy jets support conference-grade bandwidth

  • Phone: Satellite phone available

  • Power: 110V/220V outlets at every seat

Pet Travel

Most ACK charter aircraft accommodate pets in the passenger cabin — no cargo hold, no kennel requirement for many models. Large breeds (Golden Retrievers, Huskies, etc.) travel comfortably in heavy-jet cabins. Destination quarantine requirements (vaccination certificates, microchip, import permits) must be confirmed in advance; ACK provides guidance.

Korea Market Specifics

Several factors make the Korean private aviation market distinct from the US or European markets.

Regulatory Environment

Korea's proximity to the DMZ means aviation regulations are relatively stringent. Flight permits, airspace transit approvals, and airport slot assignments all require advance preparation. An experienced broker or FBO handles these administrative requirements seamlessly. ACK manages all regulatory processing on your behalf.

Limited Domestic Fleet

Fewer than a dozen business jets are registered domestically in Korea. Most charter missions therefore utilize aircraft registered overseas, which can make Korea-departure pricing higher than equivalent routes in Europe or North America — because the aircraft often needs to ferry (reposition) to Korea before your mission begins. ACK minimizes this by sourcing aircraft already based nearby in Asia (Hong Kong, Tokyo, Singapore, Shanghai).

Russian Airspace Options

For European routes, Russian airspace transit availability significantly affects both flight time and cost. Some operators offer Russian-overflight charter options that meaningfully reduce transit time to European destinations. ACK confirms route-specific availability and advises accordingly.

Seasonal Demand Patterns

Korean market demand peaks during:

  • Year-end holidays (Dec–Jan): Resort travel demand. 20–40% price premium

  • Lunar New Year & Chuseok: Family international travel. 15–30% premium

  • Golf season (Apr–Jun, Sep–Nov): Jeju, Japan, Southeast Asia golf trips

  • K-pop world tour season: Large-scale artist movements

  • Business meeting season (Jan–Mar, Sep–Nov): Executive travel

  • Major global events: Davos, Olympics, Formula 1

Peak periods tighten aircraft availability — booking 4–8 weeks ahead is strongly recommended. Off-peak periods (midweek, March–May, September–November) offer the widest selection and the strongest pricing leverage, with discounts of 20–40% versus peak rates for the same routes.

Cost Optimization

Strategies for clients who plan ahead and want the best value.

1. Book Early

Inquiring 2–6 weeks out (4–8 in peak season) lets ACK source aircraft already near Korea — minimizing positioning costs and accessing the widest range of available aircraft.

2. Book Round-Trip

One-way charters carry the cost of the aircraft's return repositioning. Round-trips offset this cost, typically making the total substantially less than two separate one-ways. Especially advantageous when staying multiple days at one destination.

3. Right-Size the Aircraft

A G650 for a 90-minute Seoul-to-Osaka hop costs 3× what a light jet costs for the same mission. Matching aircraft category to route distance delivers 30–60% savings at the same satisfaction level. ACK recommends the appropriate category on every inquiry.

4. Fly Off-Peak

Holiday and event periods inflate pricing by 20–40%. Midweek, non-holiday departures give you more aircraft options and significantly better pricing leverage.

5. Travel as a Group

At 8–13 passengers, per-person costs drop to business-class ticket territory. Family vacations, executive team trips, golf groups — group travel is the single most effective way to improve the per-person economics of private charter.

6. Ask About Empty Legs

When an aircraft flies empty after dropping off passengers — a repositioning flight — that's an empty leg. If your dates align, costs can drop 50–75%. When you contact ACK, mention any schedule flexibility and we'll flag matching opportunities.

7. Compare Membership vs. On-Demand

For clients flying 30+ hours annually, membership programs may be economical. For 1–10 trips per year, on-demand typically delivers better total-cost outcomes. ACK provides this comparison analysis at no charge — just ask when you request a quote.

Our Commitment to Safety

In private charter, the most important factor isn't price — it's safety. ACK pre-verifies the following on every quoted option. You do not need to research or verify any of this yourself.

What We Verify

  • Operator AOC (Air Operator Certificate) — government-issued license validity

  • Global Safety Audits

    • ARG/US Gold / Gold Plus / Platinum

    • Wyvern Wingman

    • IS-BAO (International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations)

  • Aircraft Insurance

    • Passenger liability limits

    • Third-party liability limits

  • Maintenance Records

    • Most recent inspection date

    • Cumulative airframe hours

    • Aircraft age (year of manufacture)

  • Pilot Qualifications

    • Type-specific flight hours

    • Route experience

    • Recency of certification

  • Cabin Crew Safety Training completion

ACK does not include operators that fail safety verification in any proposal. No matter how competitive the price, if safety credentials don't clear our threshold, we don't recommend it. That's a non-negotiable principle.

For broker selection criteria, see How to Choose a Private Jet Broker (2026).

In-Flight & Service

Q. Can I charter for just myself? A. Yes. Solo charters are common when security or schedule urgency is the priority. Per-person economics improve at 3–4+ passengers.

Q. Can I bring my pet? A. Most aircraft accommodate pets in the cabin — no cargo hold. Large breeds welcome on midsize+ aircraft. Confirm destination quarantine requirements in advance; ACK provides guidance.

Q. Luggage limits? A. Physical capacity of the aircraft's baggage hold is the only constraint. Golf bags, ski equipment, instruments, camera gear — all typically accommodated. Flag specialty items when booking.

Q. Is there Wi-Fi? A. Current-generation aircraft (G650ER, Global 7500, Phenom 300E, etc.) have Ka-band satellite Wi-Fi supporting video calls and large file transfers. Older aircraft vary — confirm at booking.

Q. Is smoking allowed? A. Most charter aircraft prohibit in-cabin smoking. Some aircraft permit it — confirmed on a case-by-case basis.

Q. When should I arrive at the airport? A. Gimpo SGBAC: 15 minutes before departure for domestic, 30 minutes for international. No need to arrive 2–3 hours early as with commercial terminals.

Q. Which Korean airports support private jet departures? A. Gimpo (SGBAC — primary hub), Incheon, Jeju, Yangyang, Gimhae (Busan), Muan.

Q. Maximum passenger capacity? A. Depends on aircraft: VLJ 4–6, Light 6–8, Midsize 7–9, Super Mid 8–12, Heavy 12–19, VIP Airliner 50+.

Q. How does catering work? A. Share your preferences at booking. The operator matches menus accordingly. Korean, Western, Michelin-chef, vegan, halal, allergy-accommodating — all available. Ordering deadline: 24–48 hours before departure.

Q. Can you arrange ground transport at the destination? A. Yes. Request it at booking and we'll arrange destination-side vehicles (Mercedes-Maybach, V-Class, Rolls-Royce, etc.) alongside the charter.

Pricing & Payment

Q. Is VAT applied on domestic flights? A. Domestic flights are subject to VAT. International flights are exempt. Stated clearly in the quote.

Q. Does currency fluctuation affect pricing? A. Most charter is priced in USD and converted to KRW. Exchange rate movement between quoting and settlement can affect the final won amount. ACK manages this through the process.

Q. Can the final payment exceed the quoted price? A. No. ACK all-in quotes are binding — the quoted amount is the settlement amount. When comparing quotes from other channels, always confirm whether "all-in" or "inclusive" is explicitly stated.
